Innovation in science and technology is recognized as a cornerstone of economic, industrial and social development. Since universities and research institutions are where innovation in begins, it is vital that they are connected to society with all its institutions. Industry-university collaboration has been the focus of industrialized developing countries playing a major role in advancing progress in our modern time.

In Egypt and the Arab world, the role of science and technology innovation in advancing societies has captured attention of most institutions that operate in the academic sector and industry alike. The Industry-Academic Collaboration 2014 conference, organized by Hadath in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Science Technology Development Fund , Ministry of Industry and other research institutions, universities and industrial enterprises, aims to achieve a shared vision, to provide the appropriate climate and develop mechanisms to encourage this trend as well as to follow up on its implementation at the level of universities, research institutions and industrial establishments in Egypt and the Arab world.
