Enthusiastic and talented fans join the Amr Diab Academy on YouTube

More than 700 videos have been submitted so far from singers and fans around the world, in order to share their talent with Amr Diab.

Following Amr Diab’s announcement of his academy, “Amr Diab Academy”, fans and singers from around the world have been rushing to his YouTube channel to submit their videos. More than 700 videos have been submitted so far, this unique partnership between Amr Diab and YouTube will allow talented undiscovered individuals to share their talents with the world and in particular with this iconic pop star. The majority of the videos have been submitted from Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco.

To enter the Academy, individuals must submit a video of themselves singing an Amr Diab song on the Amr Diab Academy YouTube Channel. Submissions will then be judged by a team of industry experts that already work closely with Amr Diab. There is still time to submit your video. Videos will be accepted until September 15th.

“I am delighted with the feedback we have received so far” said Amr Diab. “This is a great initiative that really highlights the immense talent my fan base has to offer. I can’t wait to start the coaching process and believe that the final winner will definitely be a star in the making.”

Not only do competitors get the chance to receive mentoring and performance advice from a panel of industry experts, the voting is also open to the YouTube community. Academy participants can get immediate feedback from potential fans. This provides participants the opportunity to get a real feel of the music industry. The grand prize is a once in a lifetime opportunity, with Amr Diab for the first time ever offering to sharing the stage with one of his talented fans during his New Year’s Eve concert. The winner will be announced on December 15th 2012.

With over 72 hours of video uploaded on to YouTube every minute globally, YouTube continues to see explosive growth. The MENA region has the second highest viewership rates worldwide after the United States with over 167 million views per day. YouTube is also the second largest search engine behind Google.
