On place 64 in the global ranking, Forbes placed Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, the United Arab Emirates’ Minister of International Cooperation and Development, making her the most powerful Arab woman in the world. At age 54, Al Qasimi was the first woman to hold a post in the Emirati cabinet in 2004. Prior to that, she was the CEO of B2B e-market Tejari.

The second most powerful Arab woman can be found at place 92: Lubna S. Olayan from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She’s the CEO of Olayan Financing Company, a 65-year-old conglomerate founded by her father, and responsible for overseeing investments and joint ventures.

The Forbes 100 most powerful women list chooses female influencers in seven categories: billionaires, business, celebrity, media, nonprofit/NGOs, politics and technology and applies the three metrics money, media presence and impact in order to determine the ranking.
