Samsung Electronics Egypt opens the first SONO School in Alexandria

Samsung’s SONO School helps train doctors in Ultrasonography procedures using their latest technologies.

As a part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives and building on the protocol that was signed in May 2015 between Samsung Electronics Egypt and the Alexandria Regional Center for Women Health and Development (ARC) Samsung Electronics, a world leader in advanced and innovative electronics, opened the doors to its second SONO School following the success of the 1st Samsung SONO School in Cairo.

Samsung’s second SONO School is located in Alexandria and operates under the patronage of the Minister of Health and in collaboration with the Alexandria Regional Center for Women Health and Development (ARC), an independent government body under the Ministry of Health, serving as a regional center for training, research and advocacy.

The Samsung SONO School is equipped with the latest cutting edge ultrasound machines (5D) from Samsung, which will serve specialists in the medical fields of gynecology and obstetrics, internal medicine, liver disease and heart disease. In addition to breast tissue examination and tumor type determination. The Samsung SONO School will also offer specialized training for using ultra sound devices to improve the participant’s diagnostic skills with the ultimate objective of contributing to the development of the healthcare sector in addition to research development in Alexandria.

Seung-Ho Yun, President of Samsung Electronics Egypt, Ragia Samir, Head of Corporate Marketing, Samsung Electronics Egypt, Under Secretary of Health Dr. Magdy Hegazy & Professor ​​Dr. Seddik Abdel Salam, Vice President of Alexandria University, attended the opening of the School, which will ultimately support the development of the diagnostic skills
of medical practitioners in Alexandria.
