Noor launches "Internet of things" challenge
Noor Internet Technology announced its competition "Noor's Internet of Things Challenge" for university students and researchers.
The competition focuses on the internet of things and revolutionary solutions for cities and smart agriculture. It encourages uniqueness and creativity.
Noor's CEO Basil Dallol stated that the internet of things is the future technology trend that all countries and companies are trying to be a part of.
"By 2020 there will be 50 billion things connected to the internet and the solutions that the competition focuses on are related to smart villages and smart agriculture. A group of experts and engineers from Noor's lab for internet of things will evaluate the projects" he added.
The projects will be evaluated based on various criteria including the applicability of the solutions, their marketability and the degree of innovation and creativity.
Noor's Executive Director Fady El-Guindy that through different stages of the competition the candidates will receive a lot of support from Noor's lab. Competitors can ask for evaluation from representatives of the lab to discuss their progress.
The first and second winners are awarded EGP 10,000, while the thirds and fourth runner-ups will get 5,000 pounds and the opportunity to showcase their project during Cairo ICT fair taking place from 13-16 December.
"This competition confirms Noor's role in the Egyptian market not just in the business arena but also in the corporate responsibility towards the community" El-Guindy added.
