Egypt growth to reach 5.5% by FY2019
The IMF released its Regional economic outlook for MENA, Afghanistan, Pakistan May 2018
Egypt's growth is expected to reach 5.2% up from 4.2% last year in fiscal year 2018 and to reach 5.5% in 2019. Compared to the outlook of October 2017, Egypt has come a long way and the IMF support program had a big role in this. Investments, private consumption, increased exports, tourism boost all this reflects the fruit of the reformation program that Egypt has been following since acquiring the IMF loan as well the increased gas production based on the new discoveries.
