FM Deliberates Supporting Egyptian Economy
Greek Senior Economic Delegation visits Cairo in October.
Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr, who is currently in New York to attend the inauguration of the UN General Assembly Session, would hold several meetings aiming at supporting the Egyptian economy which is the core of his meeting with his Greek counterpart Stavros Lambrinidis.
Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Counselor Amr Roushdi stated that Foreign Minister Amr affirmed that the current political and economic comprehensive reform substantially surpasses what the European countries had demanded in the past, thus necessitates the EU present all possible support to the New Egypt. Minister Amr called for resuming and increasing Greek tourism to Egypt, promoting cooperation in the energy, gas and oil sectors. He invited his Greek counterpart to visit Egypt to get to know the ongoing reforms and deliberate ways and means of increasing Greek investments in Egypt which reached a billion dollars so far. The Greek Foreign Minister willingly accepted the invitation and agreed upon visiting Egypt next October heading a large delegation of businessmen and companies representatives to meet with their Egyptian counterparts and discuss ways and means of promoting bilateral cooperation.
