Which presidential candidate is most popular on Facebook?
With the presidential elections taking place in three days, technology is becoming an important tool for promoting Egypt's presidential candidates. Many polls have showed which of them actually have a chance of competing and possibly winning.
Yet, when one looks at the statistics of the official Facebook-pages of those candidates, things seem to differ to a certain extent. Below is a list of statistical numbers that can be used to somehow measure a candidate's popularity.
Of course, these numbers do not reflect the final call of the Egyptian people and only represents the point of view of a certain stratum of Egyptians.
Numbers were copied on the 20th of May 2012, and only the Facebook-pages with the highest number of members were selected. An important thing one should consider while looking at the numbers is that in Egypt, Facebook is mainly used by young people around Cairo.
