1 Design factors
(1)Choose of seals
The reliability of hydraulic breaker in a large part depends on the design and choose of seals. The unreasonable hermetically-sealed construction will cause the leakage of hydraulic system, as well as lose sight of compatibility, condition of loading, ultimate pressure, working speed, environment temperature change between hydraulic oil and seals material. Besides, due to the dust and impurity in the working environment of hydraulic breaker, we must choose suitable seal materials in designing to avoid dust enter the system pollute oil and destroy seals, and lead to leakage.
(2)Other design reason
Do not consider throughly about geometric accuracy and roughness of motion surface, as well as do not make strength check of connection part during designing, will cause leakage of hydraulic hammer.
2 Manufacture and assembly factor
(1)Manufacture factor
Every hydraulic parts and seals have their own strict dimensional tolerance, surface treatment, surface roughness and geometric tolerance. For the manufacture problem, those phenomenon like out-of round, burr, chromium coating fall off appear, seals will get deformation, scratch, crushed, and loss seal function, cause leakage point appear, and leakage.
(2)Assembly factor
Eliminate wild operation during assembly of hydraulic hammer. Using force will make parts get deformation, operator should check components carefully before assembly, and assemble with a little hydraulic oil. If you want to wash hydraulic hammer, please use diesel oil, especially wash sealing ring, dust ring, O type ring. If use gasoline to wash, hydraulic breaker will get aging, and lose flexibility, lower seal function.
3 Oil pollution and component damage
(1)Air pollution
At normal atmospheric pressure, hydraulic oil can dissolve about 10% air, but at high pressure of hydraulic system, more air and other gas can be dissolved in hydraulic oil. Those air create bubble in oil, these bubble will get high temperature in high pressure and happen to burst in low pressure. At this moment, hydraulic oil will rush to piston surface with high speed and speed up to wear piston surface. Then leakage appear.
(2)Particulate pollution
Chisel always bared during hydraulic hammer working, and there are no seals between chisel and guide sleeve and center bearing ring. Although there are dust ring and seals on the center hole of centre cylinder, dust and impurity also can be brought to hydraulic hammer. These will speed up the wear of seals and piston rod, and lead to leakage. Particulate pollution is one of the most damaging factors for hydraulic hammer.
(3)Water pollution
Due to the moist working environment of hydraulic hammer, water might enter the hydraulic hammer, and reaction with hydraulic oil and create acidoid and oil sludge, lower the lubricity of hydraulic oil, speed up the wear of components. Water also might bond the valve plug of control valve, make hydraulic hammer run hardly and scratch seals, lead to leakage.
(4)Component destroy
Seals are made with oil-resistant rubber, will begin to aging, crazing and damage after long time work, and easy lead to leakage. If components get damage during working and scratch seals, lead to leakage.
