Suez Canal breaks daily cargo record

As many as 50 ships passed through the international waterway in the north and south bound convoys.

The decision of nationalising the Suez Canal made by late president Gamal Abdel-Nasser was courageous said Head of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Memish in a statement on Saturday.

He also underlined the security measures taken by Egypt’s Armed Forces and police to safeguard the canal.
