Egypt PM meets street vendor representatives
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab met with a group of downtown Cairo street vendors on Tuesday to discuss the government's decision to relocate them to a parking lot at Torgoman bus station.
Mahlab said the vendors would remain at Torgoman temporarily before a permanent location is established for them at Waabor El-Talag in the Galaa area of downtown.
The ministers of industry, commerce and social solidarity, and the governor of Cairo attended the meeting.
The street vendors requested a bus station, a media campaign to promote their new location at Torgoman, store warehouses and cheap Egyptian goods to sell.
