Egypt, US discuss means of boosting economic ties
Supply and Internal Trade Minister Khalid Hanafi met with Minister Plenipotentiary for Agricultural Affairs at the US embassy in Cairo Ron Verdonk to discuss means of boosting Egyptian-American economic relations.
Hanafi briefed Verdonk on the successful steps taken by Egypt to apply the new subsidy system.
The meeting took up international logistics hubs to be established on the New Suez Canal Corridor and in the ports of Damietta, Port Said and Suez. They also discussed Egypt's strategic coalitions with the UAE, Uganda and Sudan.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has purchased 180,000 tons of French wheat to produce subsidized bread through an international tender, which is the seventh of its kind in the new FY.
