Trade exchange between Sudan and Egypt rises to $1 billion
Trade exchange between Sudan and Egypt rose to $1 billion during 2015, compared with $838 million recorded last year.
This represents an increase of more than $160m, according to estimates issued by the Sudanese Ministry of Investment, reports Alnilin.
Mudesir Abdul-Ghani, Sudanese minister of investment, said that trade relations between Cairo and Khartoum have witnessed an improvement this year and economic cooperation will increase in the near future.
He explained that his ministry is considering the establishment of a special window for Egyptian investors to facilitate the flow of Egyptian capital to the Sudan, which can help overcome the obstacles they face.
The Sudanese minister pointed out that in the recent past, Sudan has offered multiple projects – in areas such as animal husbandry, mining, and the development of industrial zones and infrastructure – worth nearly $10bn to foreign investors.
