The Egyptian Armed Forces on Thursday took delivery of three Rafale fighter jets in the second wave of 24 warplanes Cairo purchased from France, bringing the total o far received to six.
The Rafale jets will “enhance Egypt’s capacity in its mission to support security and stability in the Middle East,” the military said.

The jets are expected to fly over Cairo, Giza and 6th of October City along with other planes to celebrate their arrival in an air show.

The deal, which will upgrade Egypt’s arsenal, comes amid security threats in the Sinai Peninsula and the rise of Jihadist groups on the Egypt-Libya border.
