Egypt targets $5bln in trade with Algeria
Cairo is targeting a $5 billion boost in her volume of trade with Algeria through the course of the next two years, according to Trade Minister Plenipotentiary to Algiers, Sherif Fathy.Fathy made these remarks during Saturday’s meeting in Cairo organised by the Home Textile Export Council to discuss obstacles facing the country’s textile industry.
He added that the efforts exerted by Egypt’s commercial office in Algeria contributed to increasing the state’s deals with Algerian markets to record around $1.2 billion, of which $550 million are Egyptian exports to Algeria.
The ministry’s goal is to make Egyptian products enter Algerian markets with ease, he noted.
