Huawei aims to increase Egypt smartphone market share to 30% by year-end
China's tech giant Huawei plans to increase its market share in Egypt from 25 and 30 percent by the end of 2016, said George Lee, manager of Huawei Egypt operations.
Earlier in May, the company successfully raised its market share to 20 percent beating most of its rivals in the Egyptian market though providing customers with high technology smartphones at reasonable prices.
Huawei also plans to focus on increasing its deployment to increase consumer brand awareness for Huawei, by adding more partnerships with distributors and increasing sales outlets that bear the company's brand, as well as offering more customer service centres.
Lee pointed out that Huawei spent billions of dollars of its revenue in support for its mobile patents in addition to spending 9.2 billion on research and development.
According to a number of economic reports, the mobile phones manufacturing company sells more than 10 million devices in Egypt per year, a number that represents from 40 to 50 percent of Egypt's mobile phone market
