Hyundai dominates Korean car sales, Verna in the lead
As of the end of September, Hyundai has acquired 75% of Korean brand sales in the Egyptian market, with 31,500 units sold out of a total of 37,100 units. For the moment, Hyundai has beat out its rival Kia which ranked lower.
Hyundai Verna came in the lead during the period from January and September, selling 9,823 units worth EGP 1.07bn.
Hyundai Tucson came in second place, selling 5,832 cars worth EGP 1.8bn.
Hyundai Elantra HD came in third with sales of 4,213 units worth EGP 699m; Hyundai Elantra AD came fourth with sales of 2,731 units worth EGP 570m; and Hyundai Accent came fifth, selling 2,323 units valued at EGP 380m.
Kia New Cerato came in sixth with 2,306 units for EGP 514m.
During the first seven months of 2016, Hyundai acquired 85.9% of the sales of Korean-origin cars, selling 24,000 units of a total of 28,300 Korean units sold.
In this period, Hyundai Verna topped sales with 8,092 sold units worth EGP 817m.
