International tender for gas prospecting in Egypt

Osama El Bakly, president of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGas) said his company will hold an international call for tenders "to explore natural gas and crude oil in the eastern Mediterranean and the Nile Delta," according to Egyptian daily Al Gomhuria.

The company controls public holdings in various gas projects.

Bakly said the company will undertake a "seismic scanning in the western Mediterranean and organise an international campaign for a call for tenders relative to the western desert," Al Gomhuria reported.
