Carrefour Set For Major Expansion In Market

The Majid Al Futtaim group has announced the signing of a new agreement, under which it plans to open 100 new Carrefour stores across Egypt. MAF currently operates 37 stores for Carrefour in the country.

MAF said the new deal, signed with the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation and the National Service Projects Organization, is in line with its “commitment towards the socio-economic development of Egypt and subsequently fulfills the Government’s vision”.

MAF did not say how much it would invest on the move, nor did it provide a specific timeline for the expansion. It stressed that it remains committed to offering “the largest range of high quality products at very competitive prices”, while sourcing heavily from local suppliers and farmers.
