Egyptian-Russian trade exchange expected to boost this year

Russian Ambassador to Egypt Sergei Kerbachenko expected trade exchange between Cairo and Moscow to further flourish this year as it hit dlrs 6.7 billion in 2017.

In an interview with MENA on the 75th anniversary of establishing the Egyptian-Russian diplomatic ties, Kerbachenko said bilateral ties witnessed a boost over the past five years in various domains as Egyptian and Russian Presidents; Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Valdimir Putin respectively, agreed to elevate bilateral relations.

He said Egypt and Russia are important economic and trade partners.

As for the Russian industrial zone, he said coordination is underway to agree on managing the zone by the Suez Canal Authority and the Russian exports center in preparation for starting the construction of the zone after inking a deal in this regard.
