Egypt’s insurance sector posts 25% growth in net profit

Data from the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority showed 25% year-on-year growth in the local insurance sectors’ net profit to 6 billion Egyptian pounds ($382 million) in 2020 despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Middle East Insurance Review reported citing Al Mal. Insurers’ aggregated premiums rose by 11.4% to EGP39 billion.
