edtech iSchool secures $160K investment
Egyptian edtech platform iSchool has secured a $160,000 investment from EdVentures, the venture capital (VC) arm of Nahdet Misr Publishing Group. iSchool will allocate the new funds toward developing and improving the platform as well as widening its services locally and expanding its scope in the MENA region.
Founded in 2018, iSchool offers a parallel science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics-based (STEAM) educational experience for children aged between six to 18 years old. It is the first Egyptian-African edtech startup to be accredited by a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) organisation, after winning first place at the Bizex Startup Competition and gaining recognition by Egypt’s Ministry of Investment as the most influential startup.
iSchool aims to help students learn and develop their careers in artificial intelligence (AI), software development, robotics, big data, and multimedia through a customised, interactive learning program integrated with measurement benchmarks each step of the way. With accredited curriculums, professional instructors and practical live sessions, iSchool is delivering a comprehensive learning experience that enriches students’ knowledge in all things STEAM.
EdVentures is the MENA region’s first corporate VC which focuses on education, culture, and innovative learning solutions. EdVentures operations include investments, incubators, and accelerators for educational and cultural startups at every stage.
