Egypt's food exports increase by 5% in 1Q of 2022
In a statement, Barzy pointed out that Arab countries topped the list of international groups importing food industry products from Egypt.
Exports to the Arab markets amounted to $588 million in the first quarter of 2022, representing 56 percent of the total food exports, Barzy explained.
The European Union came second in the list with a value of $169 million, representing 7 percent of Egypt's total food exports, Barzy said.
The EU was followed by non-Arab African countries with the value of food imported from Egypt amounting to $76 million, representing 7 percent of the total.
The value of food exports to the US dollar declined by 6 percent to $61 million.
The rest of the international groups recorded $151 million worth of food imports from Egypt during the same period, representing 15 percent of the total Egyptian food exports.
