Suez Canal revenues record remarkable increase in September
The revenues of the Suez Canal in September recorded a remarkable increase compared to September of last year, according to data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.
The revenues rose to the level of 13.3 billion pounds in September, while they were about 8.8 billion pounds in the same month of the last year, an increase of about 4.5 billion pounds.
The data of the monthly bulletin issued by the agency said that the total number of ships recorded an increase, reaching 2,025 ships last September, compared to 1,856 ships in the same month of 2021, an increase of 169 ships, an increase of 9.1%.
While the number of oil tankers transiting the canal increased to reach 628 tankers last September, compared to 453 tankers in the same month in 2021, recording an increase of 175 oil tankers.
