Egypt plans to increase the number of tourists by 25% to 30% annually
Ahmed Essa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, said that the ministry aims to enable the private sector during the coming period to increase the number of tourists by rates ranging from 25% to 30% annually.
He explained that this percentage allows us to reach 30 million tourists annually.
This came during the eighth CEO conference for the year 2022, which is organized by Al Mal newspaper, Monday.
Essa revealed that meetings were held with the staff in the tourism sector during the past 3 months, and plans were drawn up to deal with the problems facing the sector.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Tourism supervises and regulates 8,000 establishments, including about 1,200 hotels, 2,200 tourism companies, 1,500 tourist restaurants, and 200 bazaars, in addition to the presence of 12 thousand regular tour guides.
The minister affirmed that there will be coordination with other concerned ministries such as aviation and culture, to work on solving problems facing the sector.
He stressed the need to cooperate with civil work institutions from representatives of the tourism industry, to reach the target number of tourists.
