Egypt’s exports to Africa grow 25.4% YoY in Q1 2022
Egyptian exports to the African continent grew by 25.4% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022, according to an official statement on December 14th.
During the ministerial economic committee headed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir revealed that Egypt aims to boost exports of goods to Africa to reach $15 billion within few years.
Egyptian exports to Africa increased at a faster pace in 2021 than to the country’s total exports to the world, Samir added.
Moreover, Madbouly directed the government to immediately determine the needed transport services and the targeted markets to support the country’s trade presence in Africa.
