Trade exchange bet. Egypt, USA hit $7.3B in 9 months
Egypt and the United States of America (USA) increased 13.4 percent on an annual basis, during the first 9 months of 2022, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed.
The CAPMAS elaborated that the trade exchange between Egypt and the United States rose to $7.3 billion during the period from January to the end of September 2022, compared to $6.5 billion during the same period in 2021.
Egypt’s exports to the United States amounted to $1.8 billion during the first 9 months of 2022, compared to $1.9 billion during the same period in 2021, with a slight decrease of 1.7 percent.
Egypt’s imports from the United States of America recorded $5.5 billion during the first 9 months of 2022, compared to $4.6 billion during the same period in 2021, an increase of 19.5 percent.
The most important commodity groups that Egypt exported to the United States of America during the first 9 months of 2022 were clothing at a value of $1.1 billion, plastics and its products with a value of $136.5 million, carpets and floor coverings with a value of $117.4 million, vegetable preparations with a value of $83 million, and glass and its articles with a value of $68.7 million.
