El Molla inaugurates automated control room to follow up on refining system

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla inaugurated the first phase of the control room project and automated follow-up of the petroleum refining and processing system in Egyptian refineries at the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) headquarters, the ministry said in a statement.


The control room comes within the framework of the Ministry’s work programs towards expanding digital transformation projects in all companies of the sector.


El Molla stated that the petroleum sector continues to implement digital transformation projects in all vital petroleum activities within the framework of the program to develop and modernize the sector, and in line with the country’s plans towards digital transformation in various fields as one of the main goals included in the strategy and Egypt’s Vision 2030.


The minister pointed out the importance of development and digitization projects in checking data for speedy decision-making in a timely manner, especially in the field of refining, which is the main pillar in sustaining and securing the needs of the local market and the country’s various economic sectors of petroleum products.


This room is the nucleus of digital transformation in the field of petroleum refining and manufacturing, as it works to link all systems and programs together to obtain one integrated and interconnected system, which leads to data auditing and the availability of real-time information to help the departments responsible for the refining system in speedy decision-making in timing. the appropriate, El Molla noted.
