Egypt-Singapore trade up 120% YoY in 2021
Trade volume between Egypt and Singapore rose 120% in 2021, totaling $677 million, up from $307 million during 2020, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian ministry on December 30th.
Also in 2021, Egyptian exports amounted to $505 million, and Singaporean investments in Egypt amounted to $175 million in 33 projects in the fields of agriculture, manufacturing, services, information technology, and tourism.
On December 30th, Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir met Singaporean ambassador to Cairo Dominic Goh where they probed methods of bolstering economic cooperation between the two countries.
Goh affirmed his country's keenness to strengthen the frameworks of economic cooperation with Egypt, as it is one of the most important markets in the Middle East and North Africa region.
