Yasmin Fouad: Abo Rawash waste project pioneering experience for generating electricity
Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad said on Monday the project of turning solid waste into electricity in Giza will be a pioneering experience to achieve economic revenue from recycling and reduce CO2 emissions.
Presiding over a meeting of the committee on the project in presence of representatives of the Ministries of Local Development and Electricity, Fouad noted that the project falls within a framework of Egypt’s keenness to strengthen the green industries.
At investments worth $120 million, the project, located in Abo Rawash, contributes to reducing the level of waste by producing electric energy as it is expected to produce 30 MWh of electricity, the minister added.
