Egypt offers 200K feddans irrigated by Lake Toshki-Paris water to investors
The Municipal Authority of the New Valley announced Sunday that 30,000 feddans had been delivered to investors for cultivation, out of planned 200,000 that would be irrigated by the water of Lake Toshki-Paris.
The lake spans over 450 square kilometers, and contains 27 billion cubic meters of water. Its length and width are 30 kilometers and 15 kilometers, respectively. The plans for lake is not exclusive to irrigation. Rather, it would be used in fish production as well. Further, the municipal authority is currently paving a dust road to the lake, extending on 60 kilometers.
Minister of Transport Kamel al-Wazir told Al Watan newspaper in May that the High-Speed Electric Train would be extended to Toshki and East Owainat in the Western Desert through Aswan.
