Egypt's gold exports recorded $1.5 billion in 2022

Egypt's exports of gold, jewelry, and precious stones increased by 46% during the period from January to November 2022, to reach $1.529 billion, compared to $1.044 billion during the same period in 2021.


Export Council for Building Material (ECBM) stated that Egypt exported gold, jewelry and precious stones to about 43 countries during the first 11 months of last year, and UAE acquired 52.3% of Egypt's total exports of gold, jewelry and precious stones, at a value of $ 800 million, compared to $ 370 million, with growth. 116%.


Meanwhile, Canada acquired 47.5% of Egypt's exports of gold, jewelry and precious stones, at a value of $726 million, compared to $563 million in the previous year, a growth of 29%.


Moreover, Egyptian gold and precious stones exports to Turkey increased to reach $3 million during the period from January-November 2022, compared to $1 million during the same period in 2021, with a growth of 73%.
