Throwing objects hindering fishing to be punished by prison, fine up to LE 500K
The Law for the Protection and Development of Lakes and Fisheries, issued No. 146 of 2021, sets the rules for the practice of fishing boats and those working on them for their work, and sets binding conditions, including that the fishing boat must have a license, and that the fisherman obtain a fishing card. And the legislation prohibits, in Article 29 thereof, throwing or placing solid objects or other things that impede hunting operations in the areas designated for that, and affirmed the refusal to plant reeds, rhizome plants, or others in hunting areas, or to fill in parts of them.
The law punishes those who violate the provisions of the previous article with imprisonment for a period of no less than one year and no more than three years, and a fine of no less than 100,000 pounds and not more than 500,000 pounds, and in the event of return or recurrence of the violation, the penalty will be doubled.
