Egypt's imports from US witnesses remarkable increase in 2022: CAPMAS
Egyptian imports from the United States of America witnessed a remarkable increase during the first 10 months of last year 2022, according to data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.
The data showed that the value of Egyptian imports from the United States of America recorded about $6 billion, compared to $5.1 billion during the same period in 2021, with an increase of 19.3 percent.
The agency’s data indicates that the most important commodity groups that Egypt imported from the United States of America during the first 10 months of 2022 were distributed according to the following:
1. Seeds and oil fruits, worth $2 billion.
2. Fuel, mineral oils and their distillation products, with a value of $1.1 billion.
3. Pharmaceutical products, worth $365 million.
4. Boilers, machinery and automatic devices, with a value of $324.5 million.
5. Iron and steel, worth $279.3 million.
The value of US investments in Egypt increased during the fiscal year 2020/2021, reaching $9.2 billion, compared to $7.7 billion during the fiscal year 2019/2020, an increase of 19.8%.
