The Tax Media Observatory denied imposing new taxes on official documents or educational certificates, stressing that no taxes can be imposed or increased except with the approval of Parliament.

The observatory stated that it followed what was published on some news websites about the imposition of new taxes for stamps on official documents and educational certificates, contrary to reality, pointing out that the “stamp tax” is as it is, and that the ministerial decision issued by the Ministry of Finance regulates only the dates of its supply, and does not entail adding any new burdens to the administrative authorities or citizens.

It added that the ministerial decision includes the payment of the legally prescribed stamp tax on educational certificates no later than the end of October of each academic year, and no later than the last ten days of the month following the realization of the incident on contracts, personal status documents and judicial documents.
