Egypt gov't directs LE10 bln for gender-responsive sustainable development plan
The Egyptian government has directed L.E. 10 billion for gender-responsive planning during the current fiscal year, in order to double the percentage of gender-responsive planning investments in government investments directed at human development from 10% to 20%.
The budget was confirmed by the state's economic and social development plan for the fiscal year 2022/2023 presented by the Minister of Planning, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, and approved by Parliament in both chambers (Representatives, Senate).
In this regard, et reviews the most important projects being implemented this year in the health field:
1- Primary health care, with a value of EGP 5.1 billion.
2- Developing pediatric and women's health hospitals, at a value of EGP 783 million.
3- Establishing and developing 10 pediatric hospitals.
The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has set a guide for the "Gender-Responsive Sustainable Development Plan", and the guide reflects the great importance that the state attaches to the empowerment of women, children and people of determination.
