EU to open applications for 35,000 rail travel passes for youngsters in March
The European Commission announced the DiscoverEU spring call, which will be operating from March 15 until March 29 and will enable thousands of people to visit Europe by train.
According to a press release, 35,000 young people will receive a travel pass to visit Europe and enjoy a pleasant experience, with all 18-year-olds from the EU Member States, as well as some third countries being eligible to apply, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
Those willing to try this opportunity out, have to apply on the European Youth Portal, where they will have to answer a five-question-form as well as a tiebreaker question.
More specifically, applicants born between July 1, 2004, and June 30, 2005, and who have been selected for the travel pass will be able to visit Europe for 30 days between June 15, 2023, and September 30, 2024.
