Egypt’s New Era Education breaks ground for $49mln Uppingham Cairo school
Egypt-based school operator New Era Education announced on Friday the ground- breaking for its 1.5-billion Egyptian pound ($49 million) Uppingham Cairo school project in West Cairo.
The ceremony took place on campus site within the New Giza master development in the presence of Gareth Bayley, the British Ambassador to Egypt, senior officials from the British Embassy, representatives Uppingham School UK, and directors from New Era Education, Bloom and New Giza.
The K-12 school is being developed on a 10-acre site and is expected to start operations in September 2024, New Era Education said in a press statement.
The school will offer both International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and A-levels to meet the increasing demands of aspiring Egyptian families, the statement added.
Uppingham School was established in 1584 in the UK.
