Sisi orders support to furniture industry in Damietta to compete internationally
After being updated on the latest development in the Furniture city of Damietta, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave directives to continue exerting more efforts to make the city an integrated industrial city, given Damietta's renown in this field, said Presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy in a statement on Saturday.
The President also directed to support the development of this industry so as to enable it to compete at the regional and international levels, Fahmy continued.
“This shall create more job opportunities in this sector for the people in Damietta and increase Egyptian exports and the national income,” Fahmy said.
President Sisi was briefed on the highest standards of quality for the city as well as the manufacturing, logistical, and service needs.
The President gave directives to continue coordination among the concerned authorities and continue intensive work to ensure the success of this important project.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Minister of Trade and Industry Eng. Ahmed Samir, Governor of Damietta Dr. Manal Awad, President’s Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Director General of the National Service Projects Organization (NSPO) Major General Walid Abul-Magd and Chairman of Damietta Furniture Company Major General Hazem Hadhoud.
