Egypt among top 3 importers of Russian weapons since 2018
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) revealed the top countries that bought weapons from Russia during the last five years, from 2018-2022, with Egypt in the top three.
The report indicated that the main importers of Russian weapons in the past five years were India (31 percent), China (23 percent) and Egypt (9.3 percent).
Russia reduced its exports to eight out of ten major buyer countries, according to the report, and since 2018 Russia has sold 37 percent less weapons to India, the largest buyer of Russian weapons.
Exports to seven other countries fell by an average of 59 percent, meanwhile, while Russia has increased supplies to China by 39 percent, and Egypt by 44 percent from 2018 to 2022.
