Egypt approves increase in EBRD grant for first line of Cairo Metro
The Egyptian cabinet has approved a draft presidential decree on the first amendment of a grant deal for the development of first line of the Cairo Metro, according to a cabinet statement on March 14th.
The amendment focuses on increasing the grant offered by the Shareholder Special Fund of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) by €351,000 to €3.356 million.
The grant aims at improving a number of practices, including a program for asset management, safety and companies' development.
During a weekly cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly also approved a presidential draft decree on letters of exchange between the Egyptian and Japanese governments on the financing offered by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to support the universal health insurance program in Egypt.
In addition, the cabinet approved a draft presidential decree on a nuclear safety agreement which is a treaty affiliated to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regulating safety standards in nuclear power stations in member states of the agreement.
