Egypt, Italy mull boosting agriculture, land reclamation cooperation
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with a number of Italian officials of major companies, where they probed possible opportunities to strengthen agriculture, land reclamation and food industries’ cooperation, the Egyptian presidency stated on March 14th.
In the presence of Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, the officials discussed the latest developments of several international issues of common interest.
The issue of illegal migration and efforts to cooperate in the field of energy were also discussed.
They also agreed to continue working on maximizing the utilization of the two countries’ great potential and continue coordination to face the growing international political and economic challenges.
In related news, Madbouly held talks with Italian Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani to explore investment opportunities and partnership with the Egyptian private sector, especially in the sectors of agriculture, irrigation, and food security.
The Egyptian premier expressed his country's aspiration for more joint projects with the Italian side, in the fields of technology, innovation and scientific research.
