Govt denies any shortage in white rice

In a statement Monday, the media center said it contacted with Supply and Internal Trade Ministry, which totally denied these reports, asserting that they are baseless and bare of truth.

The ministry stressed that all basic commodities are available on markets, including white rice, saying that sufficient amounts of rice are pumped into markets nationwide

It added that the country has a strategic reserve of rice sufficient for about three and half months.
