Egypt’s President Sisi inspects number of construction projects in Giza
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inspected a number of construction projects of highways and bridges, with a total length of 200 km, in Giza Governorate, said Presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy in a statement on Friday.
The President's tour included the development and expansion works of the Ahmed Orabi axis, which connects Al-Manshiya Road with Ahmed Orabi Street, with a length of about 11 km, and a width of 6 traffic lanes in each direction, Fahmy said.
The new axis will contribute to solving the problem of increasing traffic congestion on the 26th of July corridor in downtown Cairo, he continued.
President El-Sisi said that the development of axes and roads in Giza Governorate and nationwide comes in light of the state’s keenness to improve the living conditions of citizens and to achieve cumulative economic returns.
The president added that these projects save time, effort, fuel, and cost wasted in the process of movement and transportation.
He added that this also could indirectly impact positively the daily life of citizens by reducing environmental pollution.
