Egypt to launch e-platform for establishing firms online next July

The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) will launch a digital platform that enable investors to establish their companies online on July 1st, CEO of GAFI Hossam Heiba stated on April 13th.

Heiba’s announcement came during a meeting with members of the Egyptian-Swiss Business Association (SwissCham Egypt), in the presence of Swiss Ambassador to Cairo Yvonne Baumann to discuss investment opportunities in Egypt.

GAFI’s CEO also revealed that the government targets resolving 80% of investors' problems by next June.

Egypt enjoys great investment opportunities in the sectors of health, education, automotive, pharmaceutical, logistics, communications, and information technology, which highly attract the Swiss side.

For her part, Baumann emphasized the growing interest of Swiss companies and investors in the Egyptian market, thanks to the government's policies and initiatives to develop infrastructure and enhance the investment climate.

Baumann revealed that a total of 80 Swiss firms are operating in Egypt within various sectors.

Switzerland has been among the top 10 investors in the Egyptian market over the past years, she added.
