Agreement signed to establish 'Integrated Logistics Platform' in Egypt
The Ministry of Civil Aviation, Hassan Allam Holding, and A.P. Moller Capital signed Tuesday an agreement to establish the Integrated Logistics Platform which would comprise facilities, distribution centers, logistics services, storage complexes, and dry warehouses.
The platform is targeted to attract investments worth $200 million in the sectors of logistics, shipping, and warehousing.
In January, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi directed Wednesday pushing forward the development of the civil aviation sector, maximizing the investment of relevant Egyptian assets embodied in the central location and international airports distributed nationwide.
The president directives took place during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Chief of the General Intelligence Directorate Abbas Kamel, and Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmy.
The minister presented the executive status of a number of projects, including the modernization of the fleet, governance of companies, training of pilots and crew members.
The minister had stated in November that that the ministry seeks, through an ambitious plan, to achieve the Egyptian state's orientation towards sustainable development and transform Egyptian airports into "environmentally friendly" by focusing on two axes.
