Egypt extends working hours at tourist attractions
The Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities decided to extend the official working hours of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir and Giza Pyramids for an extra two hours.
The time extension at the museum will start from Friday, April 21, so that the museum receives its visitors daily from 9 am until 7 pm, provided that the ticket office closes at exactly 6 pm.
For the Giza pyramids area, the extension will start from the first of May, to receive its visitors from 7 am until 6 pm, provided that the ticket office closes at 5 pm.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Mostafa Waziri, said that this decision aims to provide an opportunity for Egyptian visitors and tourists to visit the museum and the Giza pyramids at night. These locations are considered some of the most important tourist destinations in the world.
