Egypt saw 34 percent increase in tourist demand during April
The advisor to the World Tourism Organization Saeed al-Batouti said that Egypt saw a 34 percent increase in tourist demand during April compared to last year.
There has been a growth in reservations to Egypt from the European market by 34 percent compared to the same month last year, he specified.
Batouti noted a remarkable recovery in cultural tourism and the return of Cairo and Alexandria trips to the portfolio of major tour operators such as Gebeco and Phoenix Reisen, which includes visits to well-known landmarks within the two cities.
“I believe that the rate of steady increase and the recovery of cultural tourism once again could contribute significantly to supporting the Egyptian economy during the current and upcoming phases,” Batouti said.
