Egypt's Affirms Support for Efforts to Develop OAPEC Work Mechanisms
The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Tarek El-Molla and Jamal Essa Al Loughani, Secretary-General of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) reviewed the arrangements for preparing for the 12th Arab Energy Conference.
The Conference is expected to be held in the Qatari capital, Doha, during the period December 11-12.
El-Molla affirmed Egypt's support for efforts to develop the organization's work mechanisms and strengthen cooperation frameworks among the member states.
On his part, Loughani reviewed the general framework for developing the organization's work mechanisms in light of the successive changes taking place in the global oil industry and its impact on the petroleum industry in the member states.
OAPEC was established in 1968 and its objectives represented in supporting members’ cooperation in various aspects of economic activity in the petroleum industry, achieving the closest relations between them in this field, deciding ways and means to preserve the legitimate interests of its members in this industry.
