The Suez Shipyard Co., a subsidiary of the Suez Canal Authority, succeeded in implementing an integrated repair process for a giant dry bulk cargo ship, according to the latest internationally approved standards, within the external draft area of the Suez Canal.

The authority confirmed in a press statement Wednesday that the repair process included replacing and changing multiple parts of the hull and components of the ship, with a total weight of up to 23 tons, in a record time of only 12 days, in light of the intensification of the Suez Arsenal Company around the clock.

The ship's repair process was accredited by the Japanese international supervisory body entrusted with evaluating the quality, safety and efficiency standards of the ship, which is a certificate of confidence added to the record of the Suez Shipyard, which has succeeded in engraving its name among the leading companies in the field of ship repair.

It is worth noting that the Suez arsenal is one of the oldest, as its establishment dates back to more than a century and a half ago, when the cornerstone of the company’s dry dock was laid in 1866, to serve the ships of the Egyptian fleet.
